Skali Ski Club - Winter Information

What's On
During the winter the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort offers a mix of activities including alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, toboganning, the snow-tube park, and snow play.

There are 5 ski-lifts servicing 37 hectares of groomed ski trail area within the resort. Baw Baw has been popular with XCD Skiers and Snowboarders for many years.

Cross country skiers can enjoy a range of loops, including the 5 km Village trail, ranging from novice to experienced. For those who are more adventurous, extended tours are available in the Baw Baw National Park.

Equipment Hire
Skis (both Alpine and Nordic) and Snowboards can be hired in the Village from the hire outlet.

Snow Chains

All cars entering the Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort must carry snow chains (penalties apply for non-compliance). It is advisable to check that the chains are in working order and fit before reaching the snowline. Carry a torch for night-time fitting.

Village Access
The Village Access road is open all the way to the Village during the winter season. Weekend and long-term car parking is provided in car parks located on either side of the road just before you reach the Village. A 15 minute car park and a day car park are provided at the road terminus. The last part of the road, running through the Village centre, is closed in winter.

If you are driving up for the weekend on a Friday night (or an extended stay) you will be allowed to drive up to the 15 minute car park in the Village to unload before returning to park your car in one of the lower car parks.

Luggage
If you have a back-pack it is a very convenient way to carry your luggage. The Village is relatively compact and it is a relatively short walk from the luggage drop-off point to the Skali Ski Lodge.
